Hints and Tips for ETP/eAMS
Endorsing
You should always ensure that any endorsements are detailed on both the paper form and the electronic claim message. An electronic claim message, once sent, remains in the ePharmacy Message Store for 14 days. This means that you can make amendments or cancellations to the claim message during that time period.
Endorsing Printers
If you use an endorsing printer then the print cartridge must be replaced before the print becomes faint on any endorsement printed on to the prescription form.
Non barcoded GP10 forms
If you start receiving non barcoded GP10s from a GP practice that usually produces barcoded prescriptions then you should contact the PSD ePharmacy Helpdesk who can investigate whether there is a problem with the GP site's connectivity/software.
Barcoded GP10 forms - not scanning
If you receive a barcoded prescription that does not scan you can enter the 16 digit UPN. This should retrieve the electronic prescription information and allow you to continue to dispense and claim electronically as if you had scanned the barcode.
Barcoded GP10 forms - no message retrieved
If you frequently receive barcoded prescriptions but cannot retrieve the electronic prescribe message after scanning, then contact the PSD ePharmacy Helpdesk.
Submission of barcoded prescription forms
Barcoded prescription forms should be submitted with the barcode to the left and forward facing to ensure correct batch scanning at PSD. There is no change to the process of completing the GP34 submission form.
Updating your PMR system
You must always run system updates as soon as they are available from your PMR supplier. This will ensure that your drug dictionary is kept up to date.
Contractor Changes - ePharmacy Connections
It is the responsibility of the Pharmacy owner to notify the relevant NHS Board of new contractor details or a change in premises as soon as possible. This will enable the NHS Board to authorise Practitioner Services to follow the contractor change process to allow you to have the N3 connection in place.
There are different timescales involved depending on the type of change required. Read more >>
Pharmacy change of ownership/pharmacy relocation
Please advise your Health Board of any changes in ownership or plans to relocate your pharmacy as soon as possible to ensure that you remain able to send and receive electronic messages.
