{"id":45,"date":"2024-05-01T16:52:23","date_gmt":"2024-05-01T15:52:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.communitypharmacy.scot.nhs.uk\/nhs-ayrshire-arran\/nhs-ayrshire-arran\/digital-pharmacy\/emergency-care-summary\/"},"modified":"2026-01-16T16:25:31","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T16:25:31","slug":"emergency-care-summary","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.communitypharmacy.scot.nhs.uk\/nhs-ayrshire-arran\/pages\/digital-pharmacy\/emergency-care-summary\/","title":{"rendered":"Emergency Care Summary (ECS)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Emergency Care Summary (ECS) gives healthcare staff, including community pharmacists and registered technicians, access to a data to support patients during emergency situations or when a patient\u2019s GP Practice is closed.&nbsp;This is a really useful tool which should be used to support delivery of enhanced and efficient patient care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Emergency Care Summary Access<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply for access please complete the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.communitypharmacy.scot.nhs.uk\/media\/6429\/contractor-o365-email-and-ecs-account-request-form.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Contractor O365 email &amp; ECS Account Request Form<\/a>&nbsp;and return to:&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:eHealthSystemAccessTeam@aapct.scot.nhs.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eHealthSystemAccessTeam@aapct.scot.nhs.uk<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If an ECS account has not been accessed within a 90 day period, the account will become inactive.<\/strong>&nbsp;Contact the NHS AA Digital Services Desk&nbsp;<strong>(01292 513355)<\/strong>&nbsp;to have the account reset.&nbsp; The Service Desk only operates Monday to Friday, therefore to ensure you are able to access ECS at all times, please login at least once a month &#8211; you do not require to access a patient, login and log off will be enough to keep the account active.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fair Warning<\/strong>&nbsp;All staff:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have professional obligations to respect and maintain the security and confidentiality of patient information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must only access patient records where you have a legitimate clinical or administrative reason for doing so.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must not access your own records.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Electronic patient information systems are fully auditable, all access to patient records is attributed to your username and you may be asked to justify why you have accessed a record.
