Hepatitis C - Information

One of the most important benefits patients receive as part of the Hepatitis C community model is the involvement of their community pharmacist as part of the team supporting them through what can be complex therapy. The community pharmacist is perfectly placed to monitor how patients are coping and complying with their regimen. If patients do experience any problems, side effects or compliance issues on therapy, the community pharmacist can simply refer the patient to the Specialist Liver Team based a Ninewells. This will allow the Specialist nurse to review the patient and get any alterations to therapy or additional advice to the patient and/or community pharmacist so that treatment is not disrupted and every chance of a cure is achieved.
