{"id":62,"date":"2024-05-15T18:45:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-15T17:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.communitypharmacy.scot.nhs.uk\/nhs-grampian\/nhs-borders\/community-pharmacy-national-services\/pharmacy-first-plus-common-clinical-conditions-ccc\/"},"modified":"2026-04-07T10:07:00","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T09:07:00","slug":"pharmacy-first-plus-common-clinical-conditions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.communitypharmacy.scot.nhs.uk\/nhs-grampian\/pages\/community-pharmacy-national-services\/pharmacy-first-plus-common-clinical-conditions\/","title":{"rendered":"Pharmacy First Plus (Common Clinical Conditions)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"460\" height=\"391\" src=\"https:\/\/www.communitypharmacy.scot.nhs.uk\/nhs-grampian\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2499\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.communitypharmacy.scot.nhs.uk\/nhs-grampian\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/image-4.png 460w, https:\/\/www.communitypharmacy.scot.nhs.uk\/nhs-grampian\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/image-4-300x255.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>This service is one where the community pharmacy contractor&nbsp;provides a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber (PIP)-led service for patients presenting in the community pharmacy.&nbsp;Its purpose is to provide an easily&nbsp;<strong>accessible service for common clinical conditions<\/strong>&nbsp;which are beyond the scope of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.communitypharmacy.scot.nhs.uk\/nhs-boards\/nhs-fife\/pharmacy-first\/\">the standard NHS Pharmacy First Scotland service<\/a>; and when offered will ensure the patient receives the&nbsp;<strong>most appropriate and expedient care<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 reducing the pressures on general practice and urgent care colleagues and systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conditions may include (but are not limited to):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Urinary tract infections<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Respiratory infections<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ear, nose and throat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dermatological presentations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allergies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eye infections (in conjunction with local optometry services)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-white-color has-nhs-dark-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-5138e679b640b424541e541d628c0d3e\"><strong>Signing up for the Service in NHS Grampian <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please email gram.pharmaceuticalcareservices@nhs.scot to request a copy of documentation for completion which includes the Memorandum of Understanding, Formulary C and Scope of Practice and the below PHS-P-3 form. Contractor&#8217;s proof of indemnity insurance will also be requested.
