Cancer Training Resources for All Pharmacy Team Members

Each member of the pharmacy team is uniquely placed to spot the early signs of cancer and encourage patients to see their GP.  The earlier a cancer is diagnosed and treated, the better the survival outcomes.

Let’s Communicate Cancer is a free, easily accessible e-learning where you can learn about cancer from basics to detailed.  It is presented as bite-sized videos, animation, quizzes and slide shows.  The e-learning will give you confidence and knowledge to help your cancer patients from early diagnosis through to treatment.

"Let’s Communicate Cancer" is easily accessible, free and aimed at ALL staff working in the pharmacy and beyond.  It can be found at: www.bopa.org.uk/new-e-learning-lets-communicate-cancer/

Infection Control Guidelines

Community Pharmacy Contractors are not supported by the Health Board Infection Control Teams but by the nature of their work and services provided, will be required to undertake appropriate infection control measures.

This guidance has been written to complement the standards by GPhC in relation to health and safety.  It has been adapted following development by a multi-professional expert group and is intended to be an aid to Community Pharmacies to develop their own governance processes.  This is the responsibility of the Community Pharmacy Superintendent Pharmacist, the regulation of which is the responsibility of the General Pharmaceutical Council.

This is applicable to all Community Pharmacy Contractors but should be of particular note and action for those who provide immunisation services.
