Service Specification

All pharmacies in Scotland hold naloxone for emergency administration in the case of an overdose. For details information about the emergency naloxone service please read through the service specification: PCA(P)(2025)12 (updated June 2025). The updated service specification now includes naloxone 1.26mg nasal spray (the “pebble”).

Service Level Agreement

NHS Lothian Take Home Naloxone Service Level Agreement

Training and supply of naloxone is available from several pharmacies in Edinburgh (see list below) and from Substance Use Services in NHS Lothian. Teams can supply naloxone to anyone who uses drugs or to family members/close contacts of those who use drugs.
