Flu Vaccination Service 2025/26

From Wednesday 1st October 2025, Community Pharmacy Contractors who have chosen to participate will offer Flu vaccinations to eligible patients.

3. Eligible Patients

SGHD/CMO(2025)6 SEASONAL INFLUENZA (FLU) IMMUNISATION PROGRAMME 2025-26: CONFIRMATION OF ADULT AND CHILD COHORTS

Community Pharmacy should focus on patients in the following cohorts:

  • All those aged 65 and over
  • All those aged 18 to under 65 in defined risk groups. This includes:
    • Those in clinical ‘at risk’ groups set out in Green Book Chapter 19
    • Those experiencing homelessness
    • Those experiencing substance misuse
    • Asylum Seekers living in Home Office Hotel or B&B accommodation
    • Pregnant women

4. Vaccination Management Tool (VMT)

Vaccinations undertaken via Community Pharmacy will be recorded on the Vaccination Management Tool (VMT).  Anyone involved in the programme will need to be able to access the system.

  • If you already have a TURAS Username and Password – please send details to ggc.cpdevteam@nhs.scot and we will arrange for the VMT module to be added to your access. Please include the Contractor Code and Pharmacy Name of the pharmacy that you will undertake vaccines from; or
  • If you do not already have a TURAS Username and Password – please complete this TURAS VMT Account Request Form and return to ggc.cpdevteam@nhs.scot.  Please type “VMT Access Request” in the subject line.

5. Training

All Health Care Professionals undertaking Flu vaccinations must undertake immunisation training including anaphylaxis management and this must be delivered by a recognised private immunisation training organisation.  Please also visit the NES Seasonal Flu TURAS page on TURAS.

6. Stock Ordering

NHSGGC has set a cap on the number of vaccinations that can be ordered from Movianto as detailed below. Stock will be available to order via Movianto’s Marketplace portal from week beginning Monday 15th September 2025.

Each pharmacy has been allocated:

aTIV
A maximum of 2 x packs of aTIV for the entire duration of the programme

TIVc
A maximum of 4 packs of TIVc for the entire duration of the programme

In the unlikely event that a participating pharmacy requires more than the noted allocation above, a request should be made to ggc.newpharmacy.applications@nhs.scot.
Each request will be considered individually and the Contractor advised of the outcome.
The request should contain: (a) Contractor Code (b) Amount and type of stock required (c) Reason for Request.

7. PILs Ordering 

Patient Information Leaflets (PILs) for aTIV and TIVc will be supplied in pads of 10 leaflets and will automatically be added to your vaccine order. One pad is supplied per pack of vaccine.

8. Cold Chain Audit

Completion of the Cold Chain Audit is a mandatory component of participation in this year’s programme. You can access this module via the Community Pharmacy ‘LearnPro Community’ platform here.
