BCP Template v3 January 2022                                              General Contact Details

You will be aware from previous correspondence that public bodies such as Health Boards and Health & Social Care Partnerships, as a requirement of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, are obliged to demonstrate they have effective plans in place to cover a range of emergency situations. To meet this requirement, Community Pharmacy Contractors should have developed a Business Continuity Plan held within the pharmacy, which is reviewed and updated on an annual basis.

Contingency planning for a range of risks is a key business activity to ensure essential services continue to be provided and maintained in an emergency situation. To be effective, the content should be relevant and reflect recent events such as the need to include adverse weather within the plan. To assist you in updating your plan, a copy of the revised template is available above for you to complete and retain within your pharmacy. The template has been updated by the Board's Civil Contingencies Department taking into consideration feedback from the last two years.

Also provided on this page, is a spreadsheet which contains useful contact telephone details which are common to contractors across the Board's area. Please use this information to copy and paste into the relevant sections of the template. Hopefully this will minimise the time needed to identify contact numbers.

I would ask that you complete the updated template. If you have any queries regarding any aspect of this process please contact the Community Pharmacy Development Team on 0141-201-6049 or your local pharmacy champion (details included in attached spreadsheet).
