Clinical Portal / Emergency Care Summary (ECS)

The Emergency Care Summary (ECS) gives healthcare staff, including Community Pharmacists and registered Technicians, access to data to support patients during emergency situations or when a patient’s GP Practice is closed.  This is a really useful tool which should be used to support the delivery of enhanced and efficient patient care.

Maintain ECS Access in Community Pharmacy

Clinical Portal Login

A username and password are required for access which, if not used for 90 days, will expire and the user will need to arrange to have it reset.  In order to prevent this from happening, try logging in to the system once a month, without further action and then close it securely.  This activity will keep your password active and prevent lapsing and the system will be active at any time it is needed.

In the event that your password requires resetting, please initiate the process by logging a ticket with the Service Now platform.  You can do this by visiting the following link - Home - eHealth IT Service Portal (service-now.com)

We are aware that not all Community Pharmacists and registered Technicians have access to the system.  If you fall into this category, please fill in the ‘Clinical Portal Access Request Form and Security Policy v1’ provided below and send the completed form to ggc.cpdevteam@nhs.scot

Pharmacists/Technicians Moving Pharmacies

If you move pharmacies, it is vital that you update your details so that we know where we can contact you should this be necessary.  You can do this at any time you log in to Clinical Portal.  Please refer to the User Guide above for instructions on how to do this (please see section within User Guide marked in CAPITALS).
